Soon after leaving the temple (refer to previous post) we randomly planned to go for a drive somewhere far away (there I go contradicting myself again). And far away did we go!!!... We all jumped into Maria's car and just went south of Brisbane.
Destination: Gold Coast - Surfers
Goal: Eat ice-cream and relax at the Beach
Until we ended up here...

I thought this was too funny. The whole way down there I'm thinking someone knows the directions, BUT nope! We just kept on driving until we saw the sign to another STATE! We stopped the car and decided to take a photo. Considering we were on the Pacific Highway, we were endangering ourselves, when there were only two lanes and an emergency lane with vehicles going past us, inches away, at 110 - 120 kms an hour!!!
Our random Saturday continued until I got this brilliant idea of pretending to break down on the Pacific Highway. BRILLIANT. Hopefully that doesn't happen in reality but this makes good photography.

We continued onwards after a U-TURN at the Coolangatta Airport exit and eventually made it to our destination. Surfers Paradise. Not to mention some awesome vocabulary from Donna Brown - "EEEEEAAASSSTTTTEERRRRRRRRR" (instead of oyster) and a little shopping at Pacific Fair. It just had to be one of the best Saturdays on record! Nothing planned always seems to turn out to be the best. Like what Donna says, "usually what you chuck on last minute always come together in the end. And you look good" wise words there ya dumb dawggg... lol
Now we have a new goal.
Next Goal: Find somewhere decent to eat.
Next Goal: Find somewhere decent to eat.
and this is what they had to offer...
it was the freaking same thing!
only they offered it in different meal plans! Everything we ordered came in different styles with the same ingredients. Other than me and fale being disappointed and complaining, the girls were justifying eating there, with the apparently cute american cook that was serving us. (rolls eyes). And to the dumb register girl that needs to learn manners, cover up, learn how to use a calculator and give the right change and busted a red ink pen all over her which ended up on her face! karma! hahaha... We quickly needed something to right what was wrong and here was our answer...aint nothing like ice cream on a warm Saturday after noon, especially when your at surfer's paradise. We got our ice-cream and made our way to the beach. From then on all was bliss and what we originally set out to do was accomplished!... Singing to Whitney Houston classics on the way home to random strangers on the road was hilarious. We got some good critics, with smiles and laughs and try hard indians (for donna and maria) ... Kudos to a random Saturday.
